If you dry/dull even tired skin you need a great highlighter. On my Instagram recently you may have seen me share my natural makeup routine. I couldn’t achieve that glowy skin without highlighters. My dry skin has been doing nuts recently and super light, dewy look is all it can really handle. I’ve always love liquid highlighters but really felt like I haven’t (until now) been able to find ones that are of holy grail status. Now in saying this, this doesn’t mean that I was forgotten about powder highlight altogether, I could never do that. I have learned the art of layering and I’ve found the perfect ratio of liquid and powder to make the skin is radiant, healthy and give me that beaming glow when I need it. Of course, I do have a lot of favorites however the ones I am mentioning today are ones I have had on rotation over the last few months. I also like to not only wear the liquid products as highlighters but I will add them into moisturises, foundations, primers, wear them alone or layer different brands.

Australis Liquid Strobe Illuminating Drops $19.95
I have both shades Gold & Pink. They are a very liquidly product that I find work best when layered or mixed in with a base product. They aren’t super pigmented but I find they give the skin a subtle pretty glow. The shade Gold would be my favourite. I do find that once on the skin they will transfer into your hands and clothing as it doesn’t really set so that’s something to be careful of. These also work beautifully for highlighting the shoulders, collarbone or as an extra glow on the legs.
Josie Maran Liquid Illuimizer Drops $37
I bought this one aaaaages ago and never got around the using it. After leaving my Custom Enhancer Drops in another room and too lazy to go get them one day, I decided to try this. My skin was particularly dehydrated from having the heater on all night so I began by adding a small amount to the cheekbones before my foundation. I couldn’t believe the shine I got from just using the product on my bare skin. I applied my base and then went in again with whatever was left on my hand and it was by far the best glow, it almost gave the skin a wet look. I’ve had issues in the past with liquid products bunching up when being layered but I never have that problem with this one. It had gold reflects and contains Argan Oil which leaves the skin feeling so soft after it’s been removed.
Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops $62
You guys know I am such a sucker for Cover FX I am yet to find a product I don’t like from this brand. I know they are extremely expensive here in Australia so I can understand the hesitation in purchasing but I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed. The Custom Cover Drops come in a range of colours. I usually rotate Halo, Blossom, & Moonlight. These are a lot thinner in consistency compared to the other above-mentioned highlighters but really pack a punch in the pigmentation department. I love that they don’t contain glittery sparkles and the two-toned colours stay like that on the skin until it’s time to wash them off. I personally think the best way to apply these is with a brush or your fingers. I do find a damp Beauty Blender to suck up a lot of the product.

Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette $25
This is one of my favourite highlight palettes of all time! I don’t know what it is about this formula but it does all the right things to my skin. The palette contains some fun shades like purple and a pretty peachy colour but I use the yellow shade most as it really brightens my skin. I find the longer these powders are on my skin the better they look. The palette also contains a cream highlight but I don’t really use this one much. The powders aren’t buttery and kind of feel dry but still seem to work a treat. Despite the size of the pans I sometimes find it hard to fit a fan brush in there but using my fingers or a more precise brush usually fixes that issue.
Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Eyeshadow Palette $54
Don’t be afraid to use your shimmer shadows for highlights. I do this all the time and who doesn’t love a multi-task product. One of my favourite palettes to do this with is this Tarte palette. It has a beautiful collection of bronze shades and also a bright silver which is one of my personal favourites. Check out the Instagram video here I did using this shade as my highlight. The formula and pigmentation of these shades are insane and lasts on my skin all day. The palette also has a mirror and is compact enough to travel with.
ABH Glow Kit $72
I absolutely love this palette. The pan size is huge I don’t actually think I’ll ever hit the bottom. The kit contains 4 shades that are very pigmented and look beautiful on the skin. The packaging allows for the pans to be removed and replaced at any time. I love that the formula allows me to layer a liquid highlight underneath and it doesn’t make my skin look textured. It photographs beautifully and really does give the skin a lit from within glow. My favourite shades are Summer and Moonstone.
